Introduction
This guide explains how to print the QR codes that open your menus and dishes in Kitchen Recipes. A chef scans a code with the Kitchen Recipes app, or with their phone's camera, and the menu or dish opens.
You can print the code for one menu or one dish, a code for every dish on a menu, or any mix of menus and dishes on one sheet.
Assumptions
Kitchen Recipes is switched on for your company. Where it isn't, there are no QR code buttons.
You have the Menu Hub permissions.
Where to find this
Head Office > Recipe Manager > Menu Hub > QR codes
or
From within an outlet (if activated) go to StORM > Menu Hub > QR codes
You can also print a code from a menu's row in the Menu Library, from a menu's page and from a dish's page.
Step-by-Step guide
Printing codes for several menus and dishes
In Menu Hub, click QR codes above the Menu Library.
The QR codes page opens on Menus. Search for menus by name, reference or outlet, and click Search. Tick each menu you want, and it is added under To print. Choose all shown ticks every menu in the results.
Click Dishes to search for dishes by name or reference, and tick them in the same way. To take something off the list, click its cross, or click Clear all to start again. When everything you need is under To print, click Print codes. The number in brackets is how many codes you have chosen.
The sheet opens in a new tab. Under Size, choose Small, Medium, Large or One per page, and the sheet tells you how many codes fit on a page and how many pages it will print. Under Include, tick References to show each menu's or dish's reference, Cut lines to draw lines to cut along, and Recipe photos, which is offered when a dish on the sheet has a photo. Then click Print.
Every code shows the name of the menu or dish it opens, and says whether it is a menu or a dish, so you can cut the sheet up and put each code in the right place. Print at actual size rather than "fit to page", so every code keeps its full size.
Printing one menu's code
In the Menu Library, click the Kitchen Recipes QR code action on the menu's row. The menu's code opens in a new tab, ready to print.
Or, on the menu's own page, click QR code, then This menu's code.
Printing codes for every dish on a menu
On the menu's page, click QR code, then Codes for every dish. The sheet has one code for each dish on the menu, even when a menu plan serves a dish on several days.
Printing one dish's code
On the dish's page in Recipe Manager, click QR code.
Good to know
A chef who isn't signed in to Kitchen Recipes is asked to sign in first, and then goes straight to the menu or dish.
The QR codes page shows the address the codes open at, beside its title. Codes always open at your company's own address.
In an outlet, you can only choose the menus and dishes the outlet can already see in Menu Hub and in its dish list.
Archived menus and dishes have no code. If nothing you chose can be printed, the sheet says: "There is nothing to print. Archived menus and dishes have no code, and only the menus and dishes you can open are included."
One sheet holds up to 1,000 codes. For a bigger choice, the sheet holds the first 1,000 and tells you to print the rest from a smaller choice.
These codes are for chefs. They are not the same as the allergen QR code in the Allergens report, which diners scan to see your allergen information.
