Introduction
A Product Switch will ‘switch’ out the product from each dish that it is currently assigned to and replace it with a new product. This may be necessary if a product has been discontinued by the supplier.
Where to find this
To complete a Product Switch, navigate to the Product Records page found within StORM.
Step-by-Step Guide
Once you have navigated to the Product Records page, use the ‘Find Product’ option to search for the product you would like to swtich out.
In this example, we will use the product ‘Beef Burger’.
To perform the product switch, simply select the ‘Switch’ link on the right hand-side of this page on the desired product. Upon doing so, you will be brought to the ‘Global Recipe Items Switch’ page.
As displayed below, you will first see the current recipe item in question. In this case, Beef Burger. Using the search options in the ‘Replacement Recipe Item’ area, select the new product which will replace the existing in the recipe.
Once selected, you will be able to view the Recipe that the new product will be added to. To complete the switch, enter the correct new Unit of Measurement and the new quanitity required for the recipe. Tick the box for ‘Update’ and then select ‘Switch Item’ at the bottom of the page.
If the product is found in multiple recipes, you can select to switch all the products at once. This would be useful if a product has been discontinued by a supplier.
Upon completion, the his product will be switched in each recipe selected throughout IndiCater.
